Delivering world-class training, research and clinical expertise

Excellence in elite sports performance and sports injury prevention

The ISEH is a partnership between UCLH (University College London Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust), HCA Healthcare UK, UCL, the English Institute of Sport and the British Olympic Association.

It is one of the 11 Research Centres worldwide recognised by the International Olympic Committee for prevention of injury and protection of athlete health and one of the three locations forming the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM), a major legacy project of the 2012 London Olympic Games. It aims to deliver world-class research, teaching, training and clinical expertise in sport and exercise medicine.

The ISEH provides excellence in elite sports performance and sports injury prevention and management whilst bridging the gap between elite sport, amateur sports and exercise prescription, for the improvement of the healthcare of the population.
